Eligibility

Research Leadership

The Group Leader courses are for scientists leading their own research group (or equivalent level leaders - e.g. laboratory managers) or very senior postdocs who have already secured a group leader position, or who run their own groups within a larger group. Much of the value of the course comes from the exchange of ideas and insight with other participants, so restricting the course to people at a similar career stage enhances this value. The course is 4 days in length.

For postdoctoral researchers, the postdoc course also prepares participants for a leadership role, but omits some of the modules that rely on participants currently having staff to lead. The only restriction is that you need to have been a postdoc for at least 6 months at the time of the course. The course is therefore 3 days in length.
